Eric had a large crew of guys up on the land putting the final touches on the attic duct work (the air handler was handling air by the end of the day!). He also had workers plumbing in our kitchen water and bathroom water. Todd cut our sink into the counters. Another worker evened out the grade behind the house. They also put up most all of our lighting fixtures. The bathroom lighting is the last thing we are waiting on in that department, and the downstairs basement (which is waiting on the flooring) is the last plumbing to be done.
Jeff’s guys were doing more trim work, especially the ledge trim in the family room, which looks wonderful! They also got a lot of the drywall mudded in the garage – hence the appearance of Chris’s bucket shoes!
I was up early (for me) to get to the land by 8am so I could be ready for the DirecTV install. Of course, as I was leaving the house I got an automated phone message saying they would be coming at noon instead. So instead of spend the day waiting for the installer, I was sent off to Mansfield to pick out cabinet pulls for the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as a light for the laundry room. They didn’t have enough of any one pull in stock, so I bought a few different kinds to see what I liked best on our cabinets. I decided on long, thin, brushed nickel pulls for both the drawers and the cabinets. We are going to do small oil bronze knobs in the bathroom to make them look a little different from the kitchen.
Meanwhile, the DirecTV guy did come at noon, but quickly realized that the block that we mounted for him in the side of the house was too close to the roof soffit for the dish to be able to point in the right direction. We had brought a lift in especially for him to be able to install the dish where we wanted (and to fix the HRV vents), so before the lift went away, we had to pull Donnie and John off of the trim work and ask them to MOVE the block to a better location. Of course the installer wasn’t willing to wait for that, so he is going to come back on Monday. Oh well, it means our TV will stay at THIS house for a few days longer.
While at Lowe’s I bought the “natural daylight” lightbulbs for the fixtures. I hate taking pictures that look yellow, and these bulbs bring a natural blue-ness to night photos. Right now it just makes the space look a little stark… I hope that when we get furniture it fixes that problem!

Wife threatens husband with divorce proceedings over misuse of garden furniture….again !
I suppose it was only a matter of time until one of these "oddball" adult bikes (as seen in TV cult series "The Prisoner" in the late 60s) landed in my back garden. Rightly or wrongly I couldn’t resist the temptation to fix it and let it ride again.
Just fitted a donor propstand so that it can now stand on its own two feet when stationery.
Just the hub pawl springs (I suspect), dyno wiring, seized brake mechanism, slightly bent cranks and re-install front lamp to do….etc etc.
I can’t see myself travelling very far on this bike, but you never know….I’m just a number !
